Yes, this is a controversial topic. But here is why you should AVOID Disney World!
Holiday Weekend
Holiday weekends at Disney World are typically pretty busy. High crowd levels are expected during the long weekend with many families off work and school. For many, fall break may coincide with the holiday.
We saw late last year that Disney predicted their most busiest times for 2023. This was reflected in their ticket prices, which can be read more about HERE.
Not only are ticket prices higher, but wait times are higher too!
Magic Kingdom
Several rides currently have wait times of 35 minutes or longer. Attractions with 35 minute wait include Astro Orbiter and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Three rides have a 40 minute wait: Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and Space Mountain. This is actually quite surprising. These are all very popular attractions in the Magic Kingdom.
Then there is a drastic increase in wait times. After that, Peter Pan’s Flight and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train have the highest wait times in the entire park at 85 and 105 minutes respectively.
Epcot
Hopping on the monorail to Epcot, four rides will have you waiting an hour or more! In the Norway Pavilion, Frozen Ever After boasts an 80 minute wait.
Soarin’ Over California is back for Disney’s 100th anniversary celebrations in Epcot. Looks like a lot of people are lining up for that one! They are currently waiting 90 minutes.
Finally, Test Track and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure have wait times of 95 minutes and 105 minutes.
Hollywood Studios
Breezing over to Hollywood Studios via the Skyliner, it is not looking good at all. First, Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania are currently CLOSED at the time of writing.
In addition, Rise of the Resistance has a 135 minute and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has a 120 minute wait. Would you wait 2+ hours for these rides?
Two rides, Smuggler’s Run and Tower of Terror, have wait times in the 90-100 minute range. That means there are 4 rides right now in Hollywood Studios that have wait times of 1.5 hours or longer.
Animal Kingdom
Finally, Animal Kingdom also has heavy crowds today for the holiday. Mickey and Minnie’s meet and greet and Expedition Everest both have wait times hovering right around one hour.
Na’vi River Journey’s current wait time is 70 minutes, while Kilimanjaro Safaris’ wait time is 75 minutes. And lastly, Flight of Passage has the longest wait time in the entire park (unsurprisingly). If you were there right now (and maybe you are!) you would be waiting 110 minutes.
So, there you have it. Holiday weekends are never a good time to visit Disney World. This is why Kenny’s crowd calendars always recommend avoiding visiting during these busy times!
