After welcoming guests aboard for several months, a new warning sign is in place for TRON. What do you think of this new notification?

TRON is a coaster like none other in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. This attraction is so different than other attractions, so be sure to check out everything that you need to know about riding TRON HERE.

Like many new attractions at Walt Dinsey World, a traditional standby line is not available.  Guests have 2 options to enjoy this ride with a FREE virtual queue or pay for an Individual Lighting Lane. Guests have the option to do both to experience this attraction 2 times in a single day.

Ride Vehicle Concerns

Guests of varying sizes and weights may find it difficult or impossible to ride TRON. This was a concern of many when attraction previews were first held for TRON.

Additionally, the style of the ride vehicle (think Flight of Passage but laying more on your stomach) may make it more difficult for those who suffer from chronic pain to ride comfortably. Much of your weight is supported on your lower leg and knees and on your stomach and chest area. You'll grasp the handlebars and pull them toward you.

Since the opening of this attraction, there has been a ride vehicle near the attraction. Now new signage is present in the TRON Lightcycle Run Plaza.

This new warning states, "The seating and restraints on this attraction may prohibit Guests of certain body shapes or sizes from riding. Please try the seat to confirm your ability to ride. See a Cast Member for assistance."

After trying out these test vehicles, you can choose to ride in a more traditional coaster-style ride vehicle. Be sure to let a Cast Member know if you prefer to ride in these modified vehicles.

The back car provides traditional seating with a lap bar. Approximately 50% of the trains have these modified vehicles in the back, so you may have to wait several loads to get on one.

  1. Yes I agree that they should have known. I do not think they did the same for flight of avatar. They probably for those reasons with out knowing have lost customers. Or with customers really not wanting to say why. As of why they decided not to come. Hindsight people who came to visit the parks thinking of the parks to go to. For trone and flight of avatar. And flight the park with flight of passage. I do not think they really think about how common it is some people to have larger legs then most for weight and higth. Or larger then most people.

  2. My adult daughter and I rode this ride a few weeks ago. We had a blast and it wasn't uncomfortable for either one of us. We'd do it again in a heartbeat!

  3. My daughter and I rode Tron in August 2023 using regular seating. We’re both petite body types but we were uncomfortable in the secureness of the ride. We waited about 5-10 minutes but it was worth it for our purposes

  4. My husband is tall but not fat and he did not enjoy the leaning over and not really seeing things on the cycles. I have some knee and ankle problems so I chose the seat in back. Each time we rode it was a very short wait for the back seats. They may consider offering more of those type as they expand to regular queues in the future. I love the ride!

  5. My husband and I rode twice in June. He is slightly large, but he's shorter and one of his calves is slightly larger due to lymphedema. Each time he couldn't get the leg restraint to clamp him in, he was so embarrassed. We had to wait in the back with a bunch of other people that had issues with the restraints also to ride the regular car. You would think Disney would have learned after Flight of Passage, where he's had the same issue with the leg restraint not fitting him. Like he says, in other amusement parks there's been issues with his size and riding certain rides, but with Disney he's always been able to ride everything, until Flight of Passage (which he's been able to ride a couple times after the cast member figured out how to clamp him in) and now Tron. Very upsetting.

  6. This summer, I rode TRON the traditional way and then I did the car for comparison. Every other train has a car in the back, so we literally waited 3 minutes. I like the car WAY better. I felt I could see more and not have to keep my head up, like on the bike.

  7. My family rode TRON twice in one day in Aug-2023 and was great. We noticed two very large men attempting to fit in for several minutes until they were removed. Both men were over 6-foot and well over 300lbs. I recommend to try the test ride seats at the entrance before the embarrassment

  8. Was first told by a cast member when trying the outside vehicle that I would fit then got inside and was told I had to ride the stupid car in the back! This was humiliating and I won't ride it ever again.

  9. This is not accurate. I’ve ridden several times and the longest I’ve waited for the back car was 7 minutes. It’s usually a couple of minutes.

  10. I didn't love the position, once was enough for me. I'll do Guardians every chance I get even if I never get a picture. I was told I can ask at any photo place to have it located/added ‍♀️

  11. I rode this with my dad a couple of weeks ago. He is mildly obese, but the issue was with his relatively normal calves. The cast members tried to force the restraint several times and eventually got it. Nobody mentioned to him during the embarrassing process over several minutes that there were regular seats in the back. My dad complained about how much pain he was in. After the ride, there were indentations in the back of his legs. I'm a regular sized person and was not comfortable in the regular ride seat either. Particularly my neck felt strained.

  12. I have traveled to several theme parks and ridden dozens of coasters. I am obese and ALWAYS utilize test seats. I have observed other body types that may not be able to properly use coaster seats. Chests that have a large circumference, adults who are too tall or short and other issues. Not all of these can be changed but they are not meant to be discriminatory. At my heaviest ther were only 2 coasters I could not ride. People need to remember that vehicle designs for attractions have safety as a first concern. Ask if there is a alternative. Don't be embarrassed or ashamed if a ride vehicle cannot accommodate you..There are reasons beyond weight that it is not always possible.

  13. Ride Tron twice two weeks ago; the first time, I had difficulty trying to pull the restraints closed because of muscular calves. I couldn't kneel properly because my legs are shorter and they wouldn't touch the knee pads that way. (Additionally, I have hearing loss so I didn't understand the cast member's instructions.) As I didn't want to hold up the line, I enjoyed the traditional coaster seat.
The next time, it wasn't as busy so I had time to practice on the test seat, which i highly recommend. I had to wiggle around a bit to get my knees into position, and realized that I had been trying to get the leg bar to sit behind the knee, but it rests on the widest part of my calf. I almost got it to close, so a cast member said to tell them at boarding to help me pull it closed. Long story short: I did manage to get into better position but my calves were thick enough that it was somewhat painful once the restraints locked into place. Since then, I've talked to other folks whom had similar issues, and they advised wearing compression socks to reduce swelling and provide a smooth surface for the bar to slide over the calves.

  14. We recently had the opportunity to ride Tron. As I had neck surgery I chose w ride in the back modified car and the other 3 in my party rode the regular cars. I was great in the modified car and one of those with me said he wished that he had gone in the modified car and would not ride the regular cars again as hard to hold his head up and couldn’t really see anything.
