Some people are dead set against traveling to Disney during the summer. After all, it is dreadfully hot. However, you might find that the benefits of summer travel outweigh even the highest temperatures.
All things considered, August can be a fun time to go to Disney! This is particularly true if you can travel later in the month when many schools have already started back, creating lower weekday crowds. Magic Kingdom Park Hour Changes
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off in August, so you need to be aware that the park will close at 6:00 pm on those nights. If you do not have a party ticket you will not be able to access any attractions and you will be kindly escorted out.
Last week, we shared HERE that 3 parks have extended hours in August. However, Disney has changed things up again. Typically, Magic Kingdom opens up at 9:00 am. However, now on August 11, 15, and 18, it opens at 8:00 am.
This means resort gets get early entry at 7:30 am. Since these are all party day, this would be an excellent day to visit Magic Kingdom! You get an extra hour in the morning, and crowds will be low throughout the day.

Hollywood Studios Updated Hours
Earlier, Disney announced extended hours from August 6 to 12. And now, August 13 to 19 have been included in these extended hours. From August 6 to 19, Hollywood Studios opens at 8:30 am which pushes early entry to 8:00 am. An extra 30 minutes may not seem like much, but it definitely can help in a park with so many headliners!

Animal Kingdom Hours
Animal Kingdom is also getting in on the extended hours. Previously, from August 13 to 19, this park opened at 9:00am. Now, it opens at 8:00am with 7:30am early entry for Disney resort guests.
