Disney is now enforcing this long-standing rule

Disney has had a long-standing rule that was never really enforced. However, that is about to change and could have a big impact on your trip.

Keep your arms, hands, feet, and legs inside the vehicle at all times. No smoking and weapons in the parks. Do not go into restricted areas.

Disney has a lot of rules! Some of them are obvious and common sense rules. Others are rules that you may unknowingly break because you are not familiar with them. It's always a good idea to do your research before your trip.

Golf Carts at Disney

Disney Guests staying at Fort Wilderness love to use golf carts! You should definitely consider using one during your stay there because the resort is very spread out. Personal vehicles are not allowed at the main areas, including the marina and recreation area.

If you have a personal golf cart you can bring it on property. Disney also has a selection of 4 and 6 seat golf carts for rent in case you do not have one. Guests also can rent from third party companies.

However, a long-standing rule is about to be enforced regarding golf cart rentals.

Disney has never allowed third party companies to deliver golf carts onsite. That has always been a rule but never really enforced. However, that is about to change.

Beginning August 1, 2023 Disney will not allow these companies onto Fort Wilderness property to deliver golf carts to Guests. You may still rent from a third party, but you must meet that company offsite to obtain the golf cart. This will mean you need a trailer or some other way to tow it onto property.

With this news, many Fort Wilderness Guests are calling Disney to rent one of their golf carts for an upcoming stay. If you are one of those people who need to make new arrangements, please be patient!

  1. The problem is they dont have enough. They literally TELL you they do not. So this is absolutely wrong! That place is way too big to walk around.

  2. Perhaps related, a new Florida law on golf cart drivers kicks in October 1st. The new law requires anyone under 18 operating a golf cart to have a Learners Permit or Drivers License. That basically means no one under 15 can drive a golf cart any longer.

  3. I have been able to rent scooters from off property and have them delivered. Is it any different then having food delivered?

  4. Next it will be scooter's from outside companies and this is why Disney is losing a lot of business lately

  5. Definitely a money grab for Di$ney. Disney’s management is breaking the golden customer rule. Don’t F the customers, because they will ultimately F you (Di$ney in the end!

  6. Of course. That is what should be expected. If you were allowed to receive competing products where they rent them, that is wrong. Should you be able to pickup your Penske rental truck on the UHaul Lot? No, they would be chased off. Should Avis deliver your rental car to you at the Enterprise lot? Of couse not. You are free to rent from a non-Disney source, but you can not do it at Disney.

  7. They were enforcing this a few years ago when we rented a cart. We ended up meeting the company offsite and driving their truck with three carts on it to the FW lot, where the other renters met us. Then we drove the truck back and reversed the process at the end of our stay. Still cheaper than renting from Disney.

  8. With the exception of disneys preferred camper vendor (one being Meachams RV rentals) You can rent a camper with golf cart included which is allowed by Disney.
