Disney’s newest Live-Action movie surpassed projected earnings during its opening weekend. If you haven’t seen it in the theaters yet, you will soon be able to watch it from the comfort of your home.

Over the last few years, Disney has developed a habit of rebooting animated classics as live-action films. Among the movies that have received reboots are Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Lion King, Aladdin, and Dumbo.
Unless you actually live under the sea (or under a rock), you have probably heard by now that Disney has created a live-action version of The Little Mermaid. The movie’s cast includes stars like Halle Bailey (Ariel), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), and Jonah Hauer-King (Prince Eric.)

All the Details About the Live-Action Little Mermaid
The Live-Action Little Mermaid is making waves with some of the changes to the storyline and characterization present in the 1989 version. Most notably, the director and creators say they are working to reframe outdated content and incorporate diversity.

Live-Action Release Date
Disney has announced the new Live-Action “The Little Mermaid” will be available on digital formats on July 25, 2023. It will release on Blu-ray/DVD September 19, 2023.
Digital release for “The Little Mermaid” is set for July 25, 2023. Blu-ray/DVD release will occur on September 19, 2023. There is no date for Disney+.
At this time, Disney has not released when fans will be able to stream Live-Action “The Little Mermaid” on Disney+.

This mivie should be watched at home and not pay money to see at the movies. Took my daughter and grandchildren, ages 9, 7 and 5, to the movies to see this movie as one of their favorites. I found myself thinking this is really slow moving and waiting for it to pick up and looked at my grandchildren and they were getting antsy and remained so the remainder of the movie. They took all the FUN out if it! Don’t spend your money to see this at the movies.
