Saving Money with Disney Gift Cards
If you have a Walt Disney World Vacation planned, one way to save a little bit of money is by buying discounted Disney gift cards to pay for parts of your trip. This method may not be a great solution for everyone, especially if you like charging everything to your MagicBand or if you do not have the store memberships or credit cards required for some of the deals. But, for many people, picking up some discounted gift cards right before a trip is a good idea.
When it comes to saving money at Disney, you can save between 4 and 5% every day with Disney gift cards. However, sometimes (like today) the discounts are significantly deeper, up to 10%!
This may not sound like a lot, but when you consider you could be spending thousands of dollars on lodging, food, tickets, and merchandise, it begins to add up. Since you can pay for almost anything at Walt Disney World with Disney gift cards, you can stretch those savings, especially since most dining and retail locations do accept gift cards. You can also use them to pay for things like DVC dues, resort hotel stays, and theme park tickets.
A New Gift Card Deal
Right now, select customers qualify for a great gift card deal at Best Buy! And, the discount is pretty significant: 10%!
The deal is for $100 Disney eGift cards, which will be received via e-delivery. They drop to $90 each after a $10 discount. It is limited to one per transaction per person.
The deal is for Best Buy’s 2 paid membership program levels only. If you are a member of Total or Plus, you can grab these discounted gift cards.
If you are NOT already a member, joining just for the gift card deals is probably not a great idea since you will not even be able to break even on membership costs with the Plus plan, which is $49.99 a year. Total is $179.99 a year. These programs are basically the Best Buy version of Amazon Prime or Walmart+.
Every now and then Best Buy runs Disney Gift Card Promos for its free membership level as well. But, this deal is only good for Plus and Total Members.

The last 2 times Best Buy has offered the 10% off it has been behind the pay wall. Last time they only offered Total ($179), this time they added Plus ($49), I wouldn't expect these to be offered to the general public, except maybe at Thanksgiving, but only time will tell. You can get 3 gift cards per 24 hrs, 1 gift card per transaction with the plus membership.

The pay wall makes me sad. I was able to get the gift cards with the regular membership not too long ago.
