Refurbishments

We all understand that work must be done at Disney Parks from time to time. The Disney Parks are open year-round and work is often done while the guests will be least affected.

The effects of refurbishment can be seen all throughout Walt Disney World from resorts to each of the four theme parks, and the Disney water parks as well.

Currently, one of the biggest projects at Magic Kingdom is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. After Splash Mountain closed in January 2023, work immediately started for this massive retheme.

Construction Walls

For 18 months, Walt Disney World celebrated its 50th Anniversary. With the celebration officially ending at the end of March, many changes started to happen on April 1st.

On Cinderella Castle, the large 50th Anniversary medallion was removed fairly quickly. Disney shared that the current color scheme will remain for Cinderella Castle, but many decorative elements will be removed.

The moat surrounding Cinderella Castle is drained and construction walls were put in place to the left of the castle next to Sir Mickey’s. This was not only an eye sore, but will also create a bit of a traffic jam as guests make their way through Fantasyland.

These construction walls were first put in place at the beginning of May. Every day we could see the progress of the removal of 50th-anniversary decorative elements and even some touch-up paint on the castle turrets.

Construction walls are now removed from around Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom.

Today in Fantasyland, all construction walls are now removed. This allows for traffic and also allows guests to capture gorgeous images of Cinderella Castle.

What do you think of the current castle color scheme? Were you hoping the construction walls may be for a full return of the castle to its former glory? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with a fellow Disney pal.

I really enjoyed see the 50th Anniversary castle. I think that if they would repaint the rose gold sections back to its original color, the castle would look closer to the original colors. It would also create a better flow with the hub and surrounding buildings.

Another disappointment!

Whomever is in charge. Is raping the Magic Kingdom of memories. Things that have survived many generations. Things that we go to the park to experience. Are being removed. And the park will become like any other non Disney park. I would rather you shut the entire thing down. That rip the life and magic from a sacred place.

Original castle colors, please.

Put the original colors back. With some things Disney has changed and not for the better, like with Splash Mountain, the bayou doesn’t belong in Frontierland
