Merchandise Mistakes

Every once in a while, Disney has a misprint or a merch error. For example, you may remember the time the orange bird lost his eyebrows or the time Disney mixed up all the runDisney race distances.

And now we have spotted another merch gaff. Make sure if you are out shopping in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you grab the correct version of what you are after!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway error

Recently, some new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway merch landed in Disney Parks. You can shop for apparel, ears, and toys to commemorate your Perfect Picnic with Mickey and friends.

Just the other day, my family and I (Katie) stopped by a display in Disney’s Hollywood Studios where Guests were testing out the Runaway Railway Remote Control Roadster Set. These little remote control cars are pretty cute. My kids thought they were fun and wanted to see how much they were. So, we found them on the shelves.

Upon closer inspection, we noticed that something was a little goofy about Pluto. His normally black ears were completely missing the paint and were yellow, just like his body color. This makes him look a little bit silly!

We also found there were a few items sprinkled in where Pluto’s ears have been painted correctly. You can see the difference in the pictures above and below.

Interestingly enough, shopDisney has yellow-eared Pluto in the stock photos. So, the presence of the copies with Pluto and his correct ear color leave me wondering which was intended to be sold? Are the black ears phasing out the yellow ears?

Regardless, this is a $50 toy, so if you are going to spend that much on a toy and having the correctly painted ears is important to you, check the sets carefully until you find one.

Will these Plutos with the missing ear color be flying off the shelves? Or, are they destined for Character Warehouse? Only time will tell.

Have you spotted this mistake in the parks lately? Let us know in the comments. Be sure to share this with your friends who are shopping in the parks so that they don’t spend $50 on the version they don’t want.
