50th Anniversary Beacon of Magic Show Now Canceled at Disney World

Guests will be missing this extra bit of magic at this Walt Disney World park. Find out why this show has been canceled.

Most Magical Celebration

Walt Disney World began “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” for the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom. This celebration extended for a full 18 months. Some guests are ready for the end of this celebration, but others (like myself) are sad to say “see ya real soon” to this magical celebration.

At this time, we have no official word on the fate of the 50th Anniversary golden statues found throughout the parks, the 50th touches on Cinderella Castle, and Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.

Throughout this celebration, guests enjoyed the beautiful Beacons of Magic at all 4 Walt Disney World Parks. As the sun set, beautiful projections illuminated icons at each park with Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Tower of Terror, and the Tree of Life.

Canceled Show

The 50th Anniversary celebration officially ends on March 30, 2023. This will allow guests to enjoy the 50th Anniversary festivities until this time, but a new change has been made already

On the Walt Disney World website, the Beacons of Magic are still listed for the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. However, now this show is canceled at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This is very likely due to the state of Florida following Daylight Savings Time and losing an hour of daylight starting on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is typically the first park to close each night. This means that many guests will now be leaving Disney’s Animal Kingdom before nightfall.

This is the most possible cause of the end of the Tree of Life Beacon of Magic. This is still dispappointing for guests hoping to enjoy these last few days of the 50th Anniversary celebration.

On the Walt Disney World website, the Beacons of Magic are still listed for the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. However, now this show is canceled at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
