As you probably already know, Hurricane Ian is closing down Walt Disney World. News of the closure broke yesterday. We also know that soon it will be impossible to fly into MCO and other airports in the storm’s path.

The Kenny the Pirate writing crew has been working hard to provide you updates as Hurricane Ian moves closer to the Florida coastline. Susan provided an update as we found out that Orange county, and the surrounding counties, were placed under a Tropical Cyclone Watch/Warning.

But Disney World Guests aren’t the only Disney vacationers disrupted by Hurricane Ian. Disney Cruise Line is also having to make changes and pivot their plans.

Yesterday, we shared an update from Disney Cruise Line. Disney Cruise Line stated: “We have been closely monitoring Hurricane Ian. Based on the current projected forecast, we anticipate that the Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Dream will sail as scheduled.

“However, there is a possibility that the Disney Wish will return to Port Canaveral on Friday, September 30th, later than originally scheduled.”

Disney Cruise Line issued an updated statement late last night. It states:

Tropical Weather Update As of September 27, at 9:30 PM

We have been closely monitoring Hurricane Ian with the safety and well-being of our Guests and Crew Members always top of mind. Due to the weather conditions most recently  forecasted for Port Canaveral and Central Florida and the impact that it might have on port operations, the September 30, 2022, sailing of the Disney Wish has been cancelled.

The Disney Wish sailing on September 30 is cancelled and the current sailing aboard The Wish will be extended and will plan to disembark on Saturday October 1st.

Guests and Cast Member safety is Disney’s top priority through this storm. Stay safe everyone!
