Are you at Walt Disney World today? It seems like the guest experience is not at its best today.

Technical Glitches

Both the Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app were unable to load correctly to allow guests to select a time for a reservation earlier this morning. This not only affected guests at Walt Disney World right now, but also affected guests at home trying to make dining reservations or other experiences for their trip. It also affected guests trying to get into the virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Technical glitches are nothing new to Disney, but when they do happen it seems to affect a great number of guests. This can be frustrating when you are either on vacation or trying to make plans. Everyone wants things to go as smooth as possible, but things do happen.

It seems like the huge glitch has since been fixed. Hopefully everything is running back to normal by now.

Are you ready to ride the fastest hunk of junk in the Galaxy? Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is located in Star War’s Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can ride in the cockpit and fly as either a pilot, engineer or gunner. Each role is crucial to your mission!

Some guests enjoy trying to unlock the special ‘Chewy mode’. You can read how to do that in this post HERE.

Every once in a while, attractions do not operate as they should. Things break or they need to be refurbished every now and then. When this does happen, attractions will go into what is called “B Mode”. This seems to be the case for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run today.

Usually when guests walk through the queue for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, they see Hondo Ohnaka as shown in the picture above.

Today, it appears that this part of the attraction is in B Mode as the animatronic has been completely covered.

Instead, guests can only see him on the screen shown below or in other words, “B Mode”. We have seen this occur in other attractions as well. It’s quite common to see in Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

While the audio is most likely the same as what you would hear normally, it definitely takes away from the overall experience of this attraction. Hopefully, it will be back up and running soon! It could be for only a day or even more depending on what is going on.

Rise of the Resistance was poorly designed that only so many people can ride on it in a day. If you paid thousands to fly across the country to ride on some specific rides to only find that you had no chance of riding of one of the most advertised rides ever. It definitely makes you reconsider ever coming back.

I won't go to WDW again until I can book a reservation at Space 220. Which will most likely be never.

We were at Hollywood Studios yesterday at open and Rise of the Resistance was completely down until around 2pm, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway was down all morning, as was Rockin' Rollercoaster. It made for a fairly miserable time in long lines for the rides still open, but as like this article mentions, Hondo was in B-Mode for Smuggler's Run too. When Rise of the Resistance did open, everything seemed functional, but the estimated wait time jumped to 125 minutes and shortly after up to 240 minutes with a massive line for those that paid for Lightning Lane. Later in the say at Animal Kingdom, Flight of Passage had multiple delays while we were in line, in the preshows, and in the ride starting, but wasn't shut down. The delays were longer than what would have been needed for a guest needing more time to get on or off of the ride. It was not a good day for rides.

The Star Wars Revenge of the Sith broke down today around 10:15 AM. They made us leave our ride and walk out where cast members leave. Later the ride was down again.. Sad.

Getting a little worried! Have a WDW trip planned in December! Hope it will be worth the money being spent!
