D23 Event
There is so much happening at this year’s D23 Expo! First, there’s the Disney Legends Award Ceremony. The Disney Legends Award is given to people who have made outstanding contributions to the Disney legacy.
This year’s honoree’s include: Anthony Anderson, Kristen Bell, Chadwick Boseman, Rob’t Coltrin, Patrick Dempsey, Robert Price “Bob” Foster, Jonathan Groff, Don Hahn, Josh Gad, Doris Hardoon, Idina Menzel, Chris Montan, and Ellen Pompeo.
During the Disney Legends Award Event, we were given our first look at the new outfits for both Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
100 Platinum Celebration for Walt Disney Company
Last year, we announced that a big event will be celebrated at the D23 Expo. The D23 Convention in 2022 will be the official kick off celebration for the 100 year anniversary of the company.
In 1923, Walt Disney signed a contract with M.J. Winkler to produce a comedy series based on Alice. This marked the beginning of The Walt Disney Company, which was actually called the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio at the time. 2023 will mark 100 years for the Walt Disney Company.
This is a HUGE milestone for the Walt Disney Company. Both Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse were welcomed on stage in their new platinum ensembles. How cute are they!!!
