The retheme of Splash Mountain is underway, and we now have a sneak peek for the new promotional filming.
Splash Mountain Retheme
Back in June of 2020, Disney announced that a major reimagining of Splash Mountain would happen. This attraction, based on the controversial 1946 film Song Of the South, has been a fan favorite since it debuted in 1989.
The attraction will begin where the film leaves off; with the final kiss. We’ll join Princess Tiana and her trumpet-playing alligator friend Louis “on a musical adventure.”
They also shared some artwork for the attraction! In the concept art, you can see Tiana, Naveen, and Louis in their boats traveling along the bayou. Disney recently released a timeline for this attraction. Be sure to check this out HERE.
Promotional Filming
Today justmousinaround shared a fun video on Instagram of filming taking place in the New Orleans Square at Disneyland. We see the ever-so-beautiful Princess Tiana and petite princess as well. The two were seen dancing between the large columns with camera crews taking in every magical twirl.
It appears that this promotional filming may be used in the coming months to share updates on this attraction and possibly be used when a reopening date is set.
Many guests are somewhat divided in their feelings about the retheme of this attraction as it becomes “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.” This attraction will be rethemed at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Not interested at all. I will never pay to ride the new attraction, and won't purchase any merchandise or photos. (I will ride if the lines are not too long simply because I love water rides in hot weather.) I lived in Louisiana for almost two decades. PATF theme does not fit Splash Mountain.
