Festival of the Arts

Last Friday, January 14, 2022 marked the beginning of The International Festival of the Arts at EPCOT. This great festival will continue through February 21, 2022. This festival has just a little bit of everything, including, art, food menus and entertainment.

Guests will also want to be sure to check out art, food menus, entertainment, and colorful cuisine. You don’t want to miss the return of the Disney on Broadway Concert Series! For a full lineup of the artists performing, check out this post HERE.

The beginning of The International Festival of the Arts also brought extremely LONG lines. This line was not for the delicious food, special offerings, or to purchase art. No, this insane line was for popcorn. Not just any popcorn of course because this was the special Figment popcorn bucket.

Even with a surprising cost increase for this coveted popcorn bucket, Guests were ready to jump in line with cash in hand.  On Friday, the longest line in EPCOT will not be for an attraction but for the Figment popcorn bucket.

We saw photos on social media where Guests had waited in line over 4 hours for this popcorn bucket. Walt Disney World signage shows that these Figment popcorn buckets will be limited for 2 per person. Unfortunately, it appears that some Guests are finding clever ways around this rule.

On Friday, we saw soaring prices on eBay of the Figment popcorn bucket. Check out these rising prices HERE.

Of course many Guests used this as an opportunity to share a bit of pixie dust. Several Guests purchased one Figment popcorn bucket for themselves and a second to gift to a Guest in the Park or to someone waiting in line.

This was truly heart warming. We also shared how a Figment drawing brought a bit of humor to the situation as well as contributing to a great charity.

Currently Unavailable

Today, many Guests rope dropped EPCOT for the Figment popcorn bucket. Early after rope drop the line was at 1 hour. A little later this line grew up to 3 hours.

As the line continued to swarm throughout the day, Guests are now notified that the Figment popcorn bucket is currently unavailable. We found this tweet from Nick at @magicalnewsLIVE.

At this time we are unsure if this means that they are simply temporarily unavailable for the time being and may be available later today. Or, does this mean that they may unavailable for an extended period of time?

Guests are now notified that the Figment popcorn bucket is currently unavailable.

We are hoping that these will only be temporarily unavailable and that Guests may once again purchase without the lengthy lines.

What do you think of these long lines over several days for this Figment popcorn bucket? Do you think that this unavailability will be temporary? Do you hope to purchase one on your next trip to Walt Disney World? Share you thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.

I am not sure if this says more about Disney or the consumers standing on line for hours buying a piece of bowl of plastic. I have so much to say on this subject but I really don't want to waste my time like those that stood on line for hours waiting to purchase said popcorn bucket. But I would like to scold those that made their kids stand on line for hours, hours that you can't get back, instead of enjoying each other and the parks. I don't know what the reasons are why you would do that but I would consider it poor parenting. And shame on Disney for creating such a situation.
