Today has been a great day as we learn of exciting new Disney projects along with experiences we are looking forward to having back. Disney has announced a new stage show is coming to Magic Kingdom!
Disney Entertainment
It’s been a wonderful few months of seeing more entertainment returning! From fireworks to character sightings, things are beginning to feel more normal in the parks.
Festival of Fantasy and Fantasmic are both slated to return sometime next year, as announced this morning at the Destination D23 event.
Stage Shows
At Magic Kingdom, we have the welcome show which debuted on Disney World’s 50th anniversary. You can see all the photos for this 50th-themed performance that helps kick off the day at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Previously, we had “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle.
Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire featured familiar songs from some of your favorite recent Disney movies. We saw characters from the Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and Frozen.
The basis of the story was that Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy were celebrating and throwing a great Renaissance Faire style party and they are inviting various heroes to join them.
That show is paused/gone forever? (we don’t know yet) as another show is set to debut.
New Stage Show
A new stage show at Cinderella Castle is coming to Magic Kingdom! It is titled “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” and will celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
An exact opening date for the show was not announced, but we assume it will be sooner rather than later because it is for the 50th anniversary. Disney has not shared any more details.
Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire will debut for the 50th anniversary of Disney World.
