After a sneak peek the other day, we now have a complete first look at the entire Keister Coaster at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. What do you think of the newly completed slide?

Luna Park pool refurbishment

Disney announced the refurbishment of the Luna Park pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort back in September. We didn’t know it at the time, but they would specifically work on the Keister Coaster. This is, of course, the technical name of the infamous “creepy clown pool.”

Many don’t understand the fuss with the creepy clown. In fact, we have heard from many readers that you all are excited about the removal of the clown and are more likely to stay at the BoardWalk now. If you are in this camp, check out our complete guide to staying at the resort HERE.

What was supposed to originally take one month, turned into almost three, as we watched Mr. Spaghettios be taken down and hauled away. It was a sad day for lovers of the pool, like myself. I thought the theming of the slide was charming and fit in perfectly with the rest of the Luna Park pool area.

Just a few days ago, Disney gave us a sneak peek of the Keister Coaster. It wasn’t much – just a photo of Mickey (in the new cartoon-style) going down the slide.

Walt Disney Imagineers took the post down due to a spelling error and re-posted it later with the correct spelling.

First look at completed project

Now we have a final shot of the completed project! Check out this tweet from @BoardwalkTimes, who took a photo of the completely new slide.

In it, you can see Daisy relaxing in a pool chair, and Donald jumping in with a pool float. Pluto, is of course, enjoying his time in the water! Minnie and Mickey are heading down the Keister Coaster while Goofy joins them towards the top of the slide. The theming is in step with the new cartoon style we are seeing from Disney.

It looks like there are still a few more touches to be completed, and the barriers need to be removed before Guests can enjoy the all-new Keister Coaster.

And, here is what it looked like before:

Personally, and I know I’m in the minority here, I prefer the original Keister Coaster. It had so much more personality and really fit in with the style of the resort. It is really a charming resort that has so many neat little stories. Now, the flat image does nothing for the pool, and the BoardWalk loses a lot of the appeal for die-hard fans who appreciate over-the-top theming.

Many of my fellow writers don’t mind it (and actually prefer it over the clown). I do understand the clown phobia so this is definitely a welcome change for some!

We want to hear from you! Do you like the new Keister Coaster featuring Mickey and friends? Or, do you prefer the old one featuring Mr. Spaghettios? Let us know on Facebook, or join our KtP Crew and continue the discussion.

I agree with you. I wasn’t crazy about the clown but felt it fit in with the theme. Not so sure I am crazy about thus either. I am also not thrilled about everything going back to the older cartoon Mickey.

I'm sorry, but I never cared for the creepy clown pool. I prefer the new design, although I do wish that it was a bit more "splashy".
