Today a store in Disney Springs closed rather unexpectedly. So far the closure is a one-off.

Disney Springs

Disney Springs, Walt Disney World’s shopping and entertainment district, closed during the global pandemic. However, the district began its phased reopening on May 20, 2020.

A number of dining locations and shops re-opened in waves under specific guidelines. For example, Disney requires guests to wear masks during their visit to Disney Springs with exceptions for eating and drinking.

For the most part, the phased reopening has gone according to plan. However, a few hiccups have emerged.

Disney Springs Closures

Previously, one establishment did not make it out of the Pandemic. The Pearl Factory in Disney Springs announced that it is closed permanently. For the full story click here.

Yesterday, more news emerged regarding closures. Disney announced that it would comply with Florida’s recent statewide mandate regarding consumption of alcohol at bars in response to an uptick in Covid 19 cases.

As a result, both Jock Lindsey’s Hangar bar and Dockside Margaritas are closed. For the full story, click here.

Now, a shop has joined the ranks of establishments that have re-closed. Guests noticed today that UNIQLO’s Disney Springs location is closed.

UNIQLO

UNIQLO is a popular Japanese fashion label. The apparel shop in Disney Springs sells a clothing including a large variety of Disney-themed gear.

UNIQLO has unexpectedly closed.

I have found UNIQLO often has good prices for its Disney apparel, particularly if you are shopping for children. It is a good place to go to escape a little of the sticker shock that comes with along with Disney shopping.

So far, there is no indication of when UNIQLO will reopen its doors. There is also no official statement as to why it closed.

As it stands, it looks as if the closure is temporary based on its current status on Google. Stay tuned for official statements that may emerge.

As always, we will keep you notified if any other shops follow suite. Until then, stay well!

I’m a cast member at Disney, we have a private Facebook group where we keep each other up to date because the company is hiding cases of covid from us and the guests. I can confirm that this location and a couple others are down because of covid cases amongst cast members. People do not need to be going to Disney property right now because even if the guests are all on their best behavior, it is impossible for us to social distance backstage and some cast members are not the most responsible people in the world. I personally will not be returning to work due to the high risk.

I bet someone tested positive or cane into contact with someone that did. Hope I’m wrong but why else would they close?
