Disney’s Hollywood Studios is open later tonight than originally posted! This is a last-minute change, and I’ll explain why it’s always a good idea to check park hours during your trip!
Have you ever been in the parks and you looked at the posted operating hours? Maybe you were surprised to see the hours changed from the last time you checked! This does happen.
Hollywood Studios has updated operating hours for today, February 17. You can see full hours for all 4 parks, the 2 water parks, and Disney Springs as well as the full schedule of events on Kenny’s free crowd calendars!
Being that it is a holiday, this is good for the many guests that are enjoying the park today! Holiday weekends see higher crowds (and thus, higher wait times) than non-holiday weekends.
You can take a look at the wait times at all 4 Disney World theme parks from Saturday HERE.
Even though the change in hours likely occurred because of the holiday weekend, it’s always a good idea to check how long the parks will be open while you are there. You may be surprised to see earlier opening times or later closing times.
What do new operating hours mean for you?
For example, today the new closing time is an hour later than originally posted. Guests who are in Hollywood Studios will obviously get to enjoy an extra hour in the park!
Since today’s extension is not Extra Magic Hours, that’s one more hour of loading boarding groups for Rise of the Resistance!
Additionally, it also means more FastPasses may be available for that extra hour! This is not guaranteed, but more may be added to the system!
This means you may have an extra chance to grab a FastPass for one of the many popular attractions like Slinky Dog Dash (or Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run or Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway when they become FastPass+ options!).
This isn’t just applicable at Hollywood Studios. You may find FastPasses for Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom, too!
Again, this is not guaranteed! It is a nice little treat though if more FastPasses are added to the system.
