With much anticipation, we have been waiting for the release of this year’s taping dates. Today, we have learned that the ‘Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade’ special is scheduled to be filmed November 7 to November 10 at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Keeping with previous years, the parade is scheduled to be filmed at Disneyland while many of the stage performances will be filmed at Walt Disney World. Due to continuing development, a concrete schedule of performances is not yet available.
Guests, along with crew, cast, and imagineers who have been given the opportunity to as audience members, are welcome to observe the filming.

Any updates on filming? My daughter and I were at mk Sunday and Hollywood today. Usually there’s a stage and a big set up, we saw nothing. Are we in the wrong areas this year? We’ve never missed a filming if we could help it.
Any word on who will be performing?
Disney no longer announces that prior to performances. The biggest acts are always at the Castle though.
Why would they pick those dates? That is what is informally known as Jersey Week because NJ schools are closed Thursday and Friday for Teacher convention so lots of people take the whole week off.
It doesn’t affect park operations very much at all. They film in front of the Castle, in front of the Tree, down Sunset Boulevard and in resorts. Parade is taped in California
Do you need a special ticket to go to the various filming. We are going to be at Disney that week. Do DVC or AP get any preference to seeing the parade or concerts
Only cast members are in the actual filming areas, unless they need more extras
Does this cause a major disruption? Just wondering how to avoid the worst of it…..
