Review: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party first event of the year

Bill was out selling all the blinky stuff you’d ever need right before the parade.  The Christmas light bulb necklace was a huge seller again this year.  I think they were selling it for $16.  Wouldn’t it be funny if they charged $20 and pocketed the tips?  

Oh, balloons!  Sorry, couldn’t resist.  The parade marches right through here.  I think they were actually impressed by the little girl on the guys shoulders behind me.

Do you like Mickey and Minnie’s new smiles in the parade?I remember being in awe of seeing Olaf for the first time a couple of years ago, now I’m like “That carrot would be great in a beef stew.”  Some dinners are worth melting for!

Mad props to the guys who dig for ice in Central Florida.  I wouldn’t be able to survive the brutal summers here without you guys!  Much love fellas.

How do I trade in my Kia for this?  I could create the first ever Candy Uber.  I guess I’d have to prevent kids from eating my car every day though, huh?

Some people were freaking out on a message board because they thought Goofy was cut from the parade.  No worries, he is back on top of his candy float for the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.  

Dopey!!!  Wave at me Dopey!   Hey, guys, Dopey waved at me!

We can’t afford full sized horses here these days with all the budget cutting.  We only have ponies.  We rent them out right after the parade for rides.  Okay, they actually are Cinderella’s horses and the rental price is $2000 per half hour, per child.

Must be fun, but exhausting to dance in a Disney parade.  I can’t even do the Hokey Pokey very well.  When they tell me to “Put your whole self in” I just fall apart.

Yeehaw!  It’s a parade.  

Hula hooping anyone?

One of many guests favorite parts of this parade is the marching toy soldiers.  If you’re wondering, they actually play real music.  That’s why they don’t have cell phones like that earlier show.

Hey KtP, we got you something for Christmas!

The parade always ends with the fat guy in a red suit sitting way up high waving at the throngs.  That whole keeping an eye on you and making a list thing worries me.  It makes me feel like someone at Disney is sitting in a trailer reading every Disney themed social media post that is written, then deciding who gets the stay on the “media” list.  It’s not worth it for the free food.

Santa says, “Hey pirate, I’ve got my eye on you.”

After the parade I caught the end of the VoicePlay show in Tomorrowland.  They are very talented and a super nice bunch of guys.  They were willing to take a photo with fans.  Don’t worry guys, no blinkies!

I was so excited to be able to SIT on the ground and watch the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show on the stage.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if everyone would sit for shows and fireworks, then EVERYONE could see.  On another note, isn’t Mike “One Eyed” Wazowski’s outfit pretty cool?

The Buzz Lightyear meets M.C. Hammer portion of this show is always my least favorite, but overall I enjoy the Stitch tries to mess up Christmas before saving the day approach.  Stitch is a good guy with a bad ride that will get gutted eventually.  He’s still standing around the Flag Pole each day for some odd reason.

I then dropped into the “Club Tinsel” area inside Cosmic Ray’s in Tomorrowland.  Phineas and Ferb were given the boot and the Reindeer, some Polar Bears and Elves are joined with a live DJ pumping out all tunes.  This is not a hunters convention and there’s no autographs, just dancing and selfies while dancing.
