    • Quick service is basically walk up to a counter, order and take your food. table service involves reservations and waiters serving your food.

  1. Just found your site today. First of all thank you for all of the information!

I am planning on getting a lion king suite at art of animation for Nov 10 – 15 2015 for three three adults, one 6 year old and a 2 year old. Hopefully a fourth adult will decide to come (my grumpy father ) Anyways, we are pretty set on Art of Animation due to the wow factor for our girls and a huge part of Disney for us is magic for them. We are planing on doing the meal plan with 1 table, 1 quick, 1 snack a day. Do you think its worth it to take the “free” quick service plan listed above, or pay full price for it and look for a lodging discount?

  2. Hi Kenny,

Just wondering if you’d please help me regarding dining plan.
I’ve booked at Art of animation for 2A,2C with the FD offer and also upgraded to DP.

All of us are vegetarians and I can most definitely share food with my 4 year old daughter. Having said that we have 6 ADRs, out of which 3 are Breakfast buffets – Akershus, CP, Tusker, 1 lunch buffet @ Hollywood and Vine, 2 Dinners – Chef mickey, BOG.

Do you think the Dining plan is recommended for vegetarians? We’d do only cheese (eggs only in cakes and the likes) and no meat at all!

The package gives us park hopping/ water fun which I don’t think we really need as we already have at least 2 days per park!

I understand that when if we’re using DP, we have to use each our TS wherever applicable, however if we’re to pay from pocket, can we share food? Is that allowed? especially when we’re dining at the breakfast buffet?

I’m not able to figure out if the DP is worth for us? Not able to find any info for DP especially for vegetarians!

I’d sincerely appreciate your help/advice on this please.

If anyone reading this could offer your insight that would be great too.

Thanks for your time and assistance in advance.

  3. My daughter tripped, unsuccessfully, to get the free dining. They arrive on 10/2. She was told tha the entire trip had to fall within the travel dates. First time that’s ever been an issue. I’m guessing we are seeing thr first of many changes to the free dining promo.

  4. Hi–we have a late October trip planned (first timers) and I’ve scheduled all of our dining/parks/trip dates based on your crowd calendars and guides.
Bummer–our dates (17-24) are NOT included on the free dining.
Quick question–since I based most of my trip on your tips and calendars and built my itinerary accordingly, I’m curious if you foresee the free dining offer affecting your crowd calendar much. I assume tourists are booking like crazy (just tried the WDW website & the server is down) right now to take advantage of the FD offer.
Also, do you foresee any other discounts being released?
We’re bummed because we assumed traveling in Oct., the “off” season, would afford us more discounts than it really has.

  5. I can’t thank you enough for all that you do to put your newsletters together and get them out fast! I woke up this morning to an email from Kenny the Pirate letting me know that Free Dining plans were out. I quickly jumped on my laptop and went to work on trying to update my current reservation to add the package, but of course with the flood of requests going on, I had to book a new package for the same resort, but I was able to get it. Thank goodness, because if I had waited until now, like I would have for my daily checks on the website, I wouldn’t have been able to get it, and you can forget about calling in to Customer Service, the lines are all busy. So thanks again, you made it possible for my family to have another great year at Disney! Now I just have to wait for things to calm down to get my vacation arrangements “fixed”.

  6. Hey Kenny! I remember they use to have a passholder offer for free dining in the past. Any word yet on if that will happen this year?

  7. Hey Kenny! Hopefully planning a trip mid-February for rundisney event, have you heard any rumors about a possible deal similar to this? I know certain deals seem to come out around the same time every year.

What do you think?
