Tuesday, September 19th is “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”. If you will be visiting Disney World, Disney’s PhotoPass Service has created several options to capture you celebrating this special day.
At Magic Kingdom, you can visit the PhotoPass photographer across from the Pirates of the Caribbean clock tower anytime from 10AM-7PM to take a special Pirates of the Caribbean themed Magic Shot. This shot is outside, so it is weather permitting.
Even if you aren’t at Disney World on the exact date listed above, you can celebrate the holiday in other ways on any day of the year.
When you ride Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom, guests will have a PhotoPass photo taken automatically during the ride! If you haven’t ridden in a while, this one is fun as you won’t be expecting it. Keep in mind that this ride photo is not one you can see or see or select at the end of the ride. Disney links it to your MagicBand. If you want this Pirate photo, make sure you are wearing your magic band that is linked to your My Disney Experience account.
Junior pirates can get a pirate makeover at the Pirate’s League in Adventureland. There is a PhotoPass photographer that documents this special event. Appointments fill up fast, so make sure to grab a reservation in advance for this pirate fun.
Talk Like A PIrate to the Captain himself!
Stop to watch Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial in Adventureland. Everyone will talk like a pirate for sure with Captain Jack Sparrow. The Captain might even choose your junior pirate to improve his pirate skills. If so, it will all be documented by a PhotoPass photographer.
Talk Like A Pirate in Disney Springs as well
If you voyage over to Disney Springs, make sure to stop in at the Disney PhotoPass Studio in the Marketplace. Let the Photopass photographer know that you want a pirate photo. They can have one of the Pirate themed background added into your shot.
Once you have gathered all your pirate photos, make sure to visit MyDisneyPhotoPass.com to add pirate-themed borders to your photographs.
Whichever way you choose to commemorate International Talk Like A Pirate Day, do not forget the most important part. That is, talk like a Pirate! Get as many “arrrs” and “ayes” in as you can! Savvy?
And while September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, don’t forget that when it comes to having a great time on your Disney World or Disneyland vacation, everyday is Plan Like Kenny The Pirate Day! Always check back with us here on KennythePirate.com for Disney news, and subscribe to Character Locator (Characterlocator.com) for character locations and times, crowd calendars, and tons more Disney Parks information.

The Halloween decorations are already going up in the Magic Kingdom. It is only a matter of hours until the very first 2017 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party starts. Each party only lasts for five hours, and is jam packed with things to do: trick-or-treating, Boo to You Parade, Special Character Meet and Greets, and spooktacular castle shows and fireworks. In addition to all of this, party guests can take advantage of some spooky Photopass shots only available during the event.
