Disney's All-Star Resort Announces a New Closure
Guests of All-Star Sports are being warned of upcoming changes that will affect their stay.
Why stay at a Walt Disney World Resort?
Staying at a Disney Resort offers many great amenities, including transportation, early theme park entry, and proximity to the parks. Disney offers a variety of resort options to best fit each guest's needs and price points. These include value resorts, moderate resorts, and deluxe resorts.
There are five value resorts at Disney World, and three of those are the All-Star Resorts: All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports. As the term "value" implies, All-Star resorts rely heavily on cost and theme.
Value resorts are the cheapest of the Disney World resorts, so if you are visiting Disney on a tight budget, you will want to start by pricing out the value resorts. The price of value resorts also makes them a great option for traveling school groups.
Disney All-Star Movies Closures
Beginning this past May, Disney's All-Star Movies began a lengthy room refurbishment. Disney warns that Guests may see and/or hear construction during the day.
Disney will complete this refurbishment in phases, blocking off select groups of rooms at a time. This will reduce the number of rooms available for Guests to book.
Donald's Double Feature Merchandise Shop at Disney's All-Star Movies is also undergoing a refurbishment. While the shop remains open, much of it is behind construction walls. Now, a new refurbishment has been announced for another All-Star Resort.
Disney's All-Star Sports Closure
At Disney's All-Star Sports, Grandstand Spirits, located at the featured Grand Slam Pool, will close on September 18th for a refurbishment. It is expected to reopen in mid-December 2026.

Disney shares that a "temporary" pool bar will be available to offer Guests snacks and beverages during this closure. Disney does try to keep areas as clear as possible during refurbishments; however, this may create a noticeable problem for Guests staying at Disney's All-Star Sports this month.
