Warning Before You Head to Slinky Dog Dash

This is not what many Guests want to think about, but you need to read this before your rush over to Slinky Dog Dash at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Slinky Dog Dash opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios on June 30, 2018, and continues to be a guest favorite! The background of the ride is that Andy from the Toy Story films built a roller coaster using his Mega Coaster Play Kit.

Guests are treated to a performance by Wheezy, who sings "You've Got a Friend in Me" at the end of the ride. This attraction is VERY popular with Guests both young and the young at heart.

With wait times soaring to 100+ minutes daily, Guests prioritize Slinky Dog Dash when making Lightning Lane selections and also to enjoy during Early Entry for Walt Disney World Resort Guests.

Yesterday, August 31, 2026, Slinky Dog Dash did not operate at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Many Guests hoped that any technical errors would be corrected overnight.

Unfortunately, Slinky Dog Dash has not opened as of 10:15 am on September 1, 2026. It is unclear the reason for this extended downtime.

If Slinky Dog Dash is a "must-do" for your family, continue checking the My Disney Experience app throughout the day to see if it has reopened. Guests who secured a Lightning Lane for this attraction will receive a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass to use on a select attraction.

Hollywood Studios

As you can imagine, when popular rides aren't running, this causes other attractions to have longer waits.

Slinky Dog Dash is closed for the 2nd day in a row on September 1, 2026.

This is especially true at Disney's Hollywood Studios since there aren't that many attractions to start with.
