A NEW Manatee Has Arrived at EPCOT
A new manatee has arrived at EPCOT. Find out more about this new manatee that is now calling EPCOT its short-term home.
The Seabase at EPCOT

The Seabase Aquarium is located World Nature at EPCOT. Thousands of marine animals-including sea turtles, rays, sharks, and even manatees on a short-term basis-call this aquarium home.
The Seabase Aquarium is one of the largest man-made ocean environments in the world! It has 5.7 million-gallons of water.
Guests can view all the different marine life from two different levels! Level 2 has a circular, window-lined room in the middle of the aquarium putting you right in the middle of it all!
Manatees at The Seabase

Disney has shifted its focus from a long-term facility to short-term critical care. Dr Jen, a veterinarian at Walt Disney World, stated, "As strandings increase, critical care facilities are becoming overwhelmed, so by shifting our focus, we open up space at The Seas for more of those urgent cases. This helps relieve pressure on overcrowded facilities, supports the MRP's efforts, and boosts our contribution to manatee conservation, which is what excites me most about shifting from long-term care to short-term rehabilitation."
The plan is that Manatees should only remain at Disney for six to nine months. This will have Disney guests seeing many, and even young, manatees.

A NEW Manatee Has Arrived

A new manatee, Soleil, is now calling The Seabase her temporary home. She is a young female orphaned manatee. Check out the video of her and the other manatees below:
Soleil is now at The Seabase in EPCOT receiving care before she is released back into the wild.
She is joined by Cider and Tanimura in the manatee exhibit. All of the manatees being treated here will eventually be released into the wild just like Mermaid was released back in October of 2025!
