Disney World Planning Tips

With a park located in Central Florida, Walt Disney World tries to update guests on weather advisories as quickly as possible.
Florida weather can put a few wrinkles in even the best-laid travel plans. There are many things to consider when planning your trip to Walt Disney World, from rainstorms to hurricane planning.
What many do not often consider are cold weather warnings and winter weather advisories, but this month has been plagued with them.
Disney World Weather Alerts

A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Orange County, Osceola County, and Seminole County, effective from 1:00 am to 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Wind chills will make it feel like 27°.
A Freeze Watch will begin late Tuesday, January 27th, through Wednesday, January 28th morning.
If you are traveling to Walt Disney World this week, plan accordingly. Bring a jacket and warm weather gear to the park. If you are driving, you may want to check the anti-freeze levels in your vehicle.
Typhoon Lagoon Closed

Disney reserves the right to change operating hours without notice. Due to the cold weather advisories, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will be closed starting tomorrow, January 27th, through Thursday, January 29th.
The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory and Freeze Watch for Walt Disney World.
At this time, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is expected to reopen on Friday, January 30, 2026 (subject to change). The My Disney Experience app still shows Park Hours for Disney's Typhoon Lagoon; however, the 7-day calendar shows no operating hours on these dates.
