The Secret Price Increase Affecting EPCOT Guests

This price increase now affects multiple locations, but many guests did not notice it at first. Find out how this may affect your vacation budget when visiting EPCOT.

Disney World Price Increases

Over the past several months, the Walt Disney Company has been under attack by many who feel that the Disney parks are too expensive for the average family.

Ticket prices are on the rise for a single-day ticket and for a Park Hopper at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Guests hoping to skip long standby queues will now pay more for both Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single Pass options. After anticipating changes for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, the new simplified package selections also come with higher prices.

EPCOT Festival of the Arts

These price increases also affect many dining options and your favorite Disney souvenirs. When the International Festival of the Arts started on January 16th we did not notice any significant price increases.

EPCOT Festival of the Arts offers visual, performing, and culinary arts with a Disney twist. This year, guests can enjoy 20 great Food Studios located throughout EPCOT.

Although some menu options are offered this year, the prices at the Food Studios appear consistent with previous years.

EPCOT Price Increase

The secret price increase comes when Guests checkout at the Food Studios. In previous years, the price listed on the menus included sales tax. Basically, the price listed was the exact price that you paid.

Sales tax is now itemized at EPCOT Food Studios.

Now, the price listed does not include sales tax. While Guests paid sales tax at the Food Studios in previous years, now the tax is itemized at checkout. This allows Food Studios' prices to remain the same on the menu, but not at checkout.
