Unexpected Pandora Refurbishment at Animal Kingdom
Even though we weren't expecting this refurbishment, we are so glad that it is taking place. Find out why this closure is a good thing for the Land of Avatar.
Animal Kingdom Closures

Disney's Animal Kingdom is my (Donna) second favorite park. I absolutely love the Land of Pandora and the clever theming as you travel through Africa and Asia.
There are many changes taking place at Disney's Animal Kingdom, in particular with the phased closure of DinoLand USA. Be sure to enjoy your last opportunity to "Catch that dino with a new overlay at DINOSAUR.
An entirely new land is on the way. It is set to be themed around Tropical Americas! Recently, we were able to see a rare view inside this new attraction. Check it out HERE.
World of Avatar

The World of Avatar captures the beauty of Disney's immersive storytelling. As you begin traveling from Africa, you can see the subtle changes to the lampposts, the pavement, and even the sounds you hear as you enter this enchanting land.
In this world, there are two unique attractions: the Na'vi River Journey and the Avatar Flight of Passage. There are various walking paths that guests can take to enjoy the beautiful landscape of this exotic land.
As beautiful as the World of Avatar is during the daytime, it is even more breathtaking at night. Unfortunately, many guests are unable to enjoy the bioluminescent flora and other effects in this land due to Disney's Animal Kingdom closing early.
Surprise Refurbishment

Guests visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom now notice that sections of the walkway throughout the World of Avatar are blocked off. Work is now underway to repaint the bioluminescent walkways.
Repainting is now underway on the bioluminescent walkways at the World of Avatar.
The good news is that guests can still enjoy this beautiful land while repainting is taking place, the bad news is that an already busy land is a bit more congested now.
