In 2024, Disney Parks made a change from the previous Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane system that allowed guests to skip the line for a fee. The new Lightning Lane Multi Pass is very similar to the previous Disney Genie+, with a few exceptions.

Lightning Lanes can be purchased as a Multi-Pass or an Individual Lightning Lane. There is also a Premier Pass, which eliminates the need for ride reservations, but it comes at a premium price.

Disney reserves the right to make changes to which attractions are offered with Lightning Lane, and selections are limited. Check out our full review of using the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass HERE.

With so many big attractions closing all throughout Walt Disney World, many have questioned if it is worth purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single Pass for the limited number of attractions.

Today, Walt Disney World actually added an attraction to the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Starting November 7, 2025, "Zootopia: Better Zoogether!" will be added to the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass selections.

"Zootopia Better Zoogether" is replacing the former "It's Tough To Be a Bug" 3D show held inside the iconic Tree of Life. You can check out more information for this new show and new character meet and greets HERE.

Special previews are now taking place for this new experience. See if you can join a sneak peek of this new show HERE.

The second big change for Lightning Lane is not so magical. Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single Pass use variable pricing. Prices increase as demand increases for holidays and heavy travel times.

Last week, Disney increased the price for the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass at all 4 Theme Parks, including Disney's Animal Kingdom, which is pretty much a construction zone. You can see a full breakdown of these price increases HERE.

In a recent special aired on Good Morning America, Disney Parks actually suggests guests take advantage of Early Entry and "Rope Drop" and skip purchasing Lightning Lanes as a way to be more "Budget Conscious".
