Warning: Fees Have Increased for Cruises out of Port Canaveral
If you are planning a cruise soon, be prepared for a new price increase! Here is everything you need to know to prepare for the change and to adjust your budget accordingly.
Cruising Fee Increases

Seasoned cruisers know that things like port fees tend to fluctuate. But for many cruisers, things such as parking fees have been consistent for years. So this information might be a surprise.
For example, Port Canaveral is one port that has been consistent for guests throughout the past few years in terms of parking prices. Port Canaveral is currently where ships such as the Disney Wish, the Disney Treasure, the Disney Magic, and other ships from Disney Cruise Line, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and NCL Norwegian will embark for cruises in the coming months and years.
However, in August, Port Canaveral Considered doing something it had not done in a long time: raising parking fees. This is the first time Port Canaveral has raised costs since 2017.
Why Are Parking Price Increases Happening

This discussion was spurred on by the increase in crowds embarking on cruises out of Port Canaveral. In past years, Port Canaveral has welcomed an average of 4.5 million guests annually.
However, the cruise industry is expanding and adding larger new ships, with larger capacities to fleets, and this has increased traffic at Port Canaveral. This year alone, 8.4 million visitors have already come through the port!
Next year, Port Canavera expects to welcome 9 million people. The growth could, naturally, lead to higher operating costs.
The New Parking Fees

According to Port Canaveral's webpage, the new parking fees are already in place. Visitors wishing to park at the port will now pay $20 plus tax per day. The fees apply to both vehicles and RVs.
It is also important to know that daily parking rates are calculated to include both embarkation and debarkation days and every day of your sailing. For example, if you are taking a 4-day, 3-night cruise on the Disney Wish, you will pay for 4 days of parking for a total of $80 plus taxes.
Parking fees have increased to $20 per day plus tax at Port Canaveral.
Parking fees apply to all vehicles and RVs. There is no price differentiation for smaller vehicles.
PIRATE TIP: if you will have a car to park for your cruise, it is a good idea to book your parking well in advance since crowds are effectively doubling if you wish to enjoy the ease of parking at Port Canaveral. You don't want to risk a sell-out.
