The Magic Is Missing From These Disney Parks
Visiting a Disney park can be truly magical right from the moment you enter the park. See how some parks have recently lost some of the magic.
Park Entry

When Guests enter a Walt Disney World theme park, they must tap their ticket to one of the tapstiles. Guests "tap" into the parks with their MagicBand+, Disney MobileMagic, or card.
The tapstiles are a modern take on a traditional turnstile.
Disney has even made the tapstiles more magical by adding special effects. These effects include lights and sound displays depending on your ticket (Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club Member) or type of MagicBand+.
The Magic is MISSING!

There have been reports that some park entrance tapstiles were no longer displaying the special animations. Our own Kenny the Pirate confirmed that this is true when he visited the Magic Kingdom.
Sometimes, Disney would pause the magical effects when lines got long to help Guests through the park entrance more quickly.
It has also been reported that this magic has been missing for a few days and is impacting several parks, including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. Every Guest is now receiving the same green light and no extra sound effects.
What Does This Mean For You?

The special effects on the tapstiles add a little extra magic for Guests when entering the park. You can see a video of the DVC effect below:
It is unknown why the magic has gone missing with the tapstile sound and color display at select parks.
It is unknown why the tapstiles no longer have the special effects for Guests when entering the parks. It is also unknown if this is a temporary pause or if this change is permanent. Personally, I love this special effect and hope that it makes its return soon!
