This Morning's Outage

This morning, Sunday August 31st, Guests visiting the parks at Walt Disney World Resort were met with quite the surprise. Our own Kenny the Pirate was visiting the parks when security announced that the monorail would have a delayed opening due to the power outage.
At security Guests were met with only a single security scanner.
Guests were met with even more delays as the entry tap points were down and Cast Members were using iPads for entry. This power outage seemed to be limited to only EPCOT, and no other parks were impacted.
Impact on Guests

Guests arriving to EPCOT faced long lines through security and entry tap points. However, it seemed that the power outage was limited to the park entry systems and the monorail system. Fortunately, it seems that all attractions were operational.
The power outage seemed to be limited to the park entry systems (security and entry tap points) and the monorail system.
What happens when the monorail is not operational? If for any reason the monorail system becomes nonoperational for Guests, Disney provides bus transportation for those that are impacted.
