Big Demolition Affects Disney's Hollywood Studios
Disney typically tries to hide refurbishment and work from guests, but there is no hiding the HUGE demolition at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Take a look at the current work in progress.
Hollywood Studios Changes

In the wise words of Walt Disney, the Disney Parks will continue to be reimagined as long as there is imagination left in the world. However, the current state of Disney's Hollywood Studios does not match the initial concept for this 3rd Theme Park at Walt Disney World.
With the removal of The Great Movie Ride, The Studio Backlot Tour, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, to name a few classics, the original idea of MGM Studios serving as a window into "Old Hollywood" has changed.
Disney announced that the entire Muppets Courtyard would close, but the Muppets would relocate with a retheme of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. At this time, Disney has not announced when the Muppet re-theme will begin for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Although this re-theme seems a bit odd, we are thankful that the Muppets will still be represented at Walt Disney World.
Muppet Courtyard Closure

Construction walls have surrounded Muppet Courtyard for several weeks. Earlier, we shared that Disney filed a permit that is associated with the Stage 1 Company Store located in Muppets Courtyard.
This large store, once offered Muppet merchandise, but sadly never fully reopend after the Disney Parks closed in 2020.
The Stage 1 Company Store was used as a temporary merchandise shop for Jollywood Nights and, most recently, for May the 4th merchandise. My (Donna) favorite part of this store was the larger-than-life Kermit statues (as pictured above) and the fun theming all around the exterior of this building.
Muppet Courtyard Demolition

Guests of Disney's Hollywood Studios were shocked to see visible demolition of the Stage 1 Company Store yesterday, July 31, 2025. The above photo shows the visible demolition of this store.

The photo featured below shows a more up-close look at the demolition. Although we knew these big changes were imminent to make room for the new Monsters Inc. Land, it still forever changed the sightline of Disney's Hollywood Studios.

I think they're doing too much at one time.... All 4 parks are in a state of upheaval and that is NOT what guests go there to experience.
I agree completely! There are so many construction walls at each park right now.
