Guests were shocked to find a wet surprise Friday evening when the sprinkler system was activated at this Disney World hotel. Find out the details of this ordeal.
Boulder Ridge
The Disney Vacation Club Villas at Boulder Ridge are located at The Wilderness Lodge. This resort is themed to the National Parks around the US, is nestled in the woods off Bay Lake, and is a fine place to relax between visits to the busy theme parks.
The Villas at Boulder Ridge were last refurbished in 2023.
Unfortunately, Guests staying at Boulder Ridge did not get the peaceful retreat they were hoping for.
Sprinkler System Activated
A Guest posted on social media that on Friday evening the fire alarm went off and then the sprinkler system at the Villas at Boulder Ridge was activated!
TikTok user @thr_duo_yt posted a video of the event stating "Fire on 3rd floor causes flooding in Wilderness Lodge Resort." See the video below:
Boulder Ridge is located in a separate building from The Wilderness Lodge.
Impact on Guests
At this time, there have been no reports of a fire in the building, so it is unknown what caused the fire system to activate.
In the comments of the above TikTok post people reported seeing industrial fans working after the event in the resort lobby. Another commented they were able to get their DVC points back for the night.
No details have been shared regarding the extent of the damage or if any Guests were impacted.
On a different discussion board, Guests reported that they were not able to return to their room until 10:30 at night. Also reported that Cast Members were asking Guests their room numbers before allowing Guests up to their rooms.
