Disney World’s Best Pool Reopens After a Lengthy Refurbishment

Refurbishments are often dreaded, especially when they affect favorite attractions and Walt Disney World Resort amenities, but now our favorite Disney pool is finally reopening.

Guests have many choices when they book their Walt Disney World vacation. Many guests choose their Disney Resort based on the location to the parks, while others choose based on amenities.

Disney’s Beach Club is home to Stormalong Bay, one of the best feature pools at Disney World! Enjoy a pirate shipwreck, a lazy river, a sand-bottom pool, and so much more. You can read more about why many think it’s the best pool HERE.

Disney does try to update guests on upcoming refurbishments and closures in advance when possible. We were pretty sad to hear that Stormalong Bay would begin a lengthy refurbishment in January 2025.

Unfortunately, this refurbishment has taken longer than expected. Disney shared the news that the refurbishment would take an additional month, leaving this popular pool closed for six months!

Over the past several weeks, water began to fill the three-acre pool complex. Today, June 17th, Disney’s Beach Club and Disney’s Yacht Club guests can once again enjoy Stormalong Bay.

This is great news for guests currently staying at these resorts and for guests with upcoming reservations at Disney’s Beach Club and Disney’s Yacht Club.

Disney World Resort Refurbishment

Unfortunately, more refurbishment work is in progress at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Both resorts will be undergoing routine exterior maintenance.

Stormalong Bay is now reopened to guests.

Disney’s Beach Club’s exterior refurbishment will take place from early June through September 2025. Disney’s Yacht Club’s exterior refurbishment will take place from early July through October 2025. See full details HERE.
