After several delays, this Disney closure is extended once again. Check out the new opening timeline and see the new changes coming to this iconic Disney attraction.
Disney Closures

Children of all ages enjoy the festive dolls, singing, and scenes from around the world in the “it’s a small world” ride. You might even find yourself humming the iconic “It’s a Small World After All” song long after the ride.
In Late January 2025, we shared that “it’s a small world” would close for a lengthy refurbishment at Disneyland. Many refurbishment projects have been taking place at Disneyland to prepare for the beginning of the 70th anniversary.
“it’s a small world” was a true vision of Walt Disney and first debuted at the World’s Fair in New York before delighting guests at Disneyland. Much work is taking place on this iconic attraction as this anniversary celebration begins.
“it’s a small world” Closure

Originally Disneyland set the reopening of “it’s a small world” for April 25, 2025. This reopening is was then pushed back two weeks and was set to reopen on May 9, 2025.
Now, this reopening is pushed back yet again. Disneyland now announces a reopening on May 13, 2025. Our fingers are crossed that “it’s a small world” will actually reopen on this date.
The Disneyland “it’s a small world” attraction will receive 2 new additions for Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary. The debut when the attraction finally reopens will be located in Mexico. Miguel and his trusted alebrije, Dante, from the Pixar film “Coco,” will join the other children in song.
“Last Verse” Sherman Brothers

There is also a new verse coming to this attraction starting July 17, 2025. Written by Richard Sherman before he passed, “The Last Verse” can be enjoyed aboard “it’s a small world” and a short film, “Last Verse”, will be featured at Main Street Cinema.
“it’s a small world” will now reopen on May 13, 2025.
We can’t wait to see these new changes and to enjoy the start of the 70th Anniversary celebrations.
