The 999 Haunts of the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom will receive a refurbishment very soon. See what aspects of this attraction will undergo work and what this may mean for many guests’ favorite attraction.
Different Haunted Mansions

There is a loyal following of Disney fans for the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction. The idea of the Haunted Mansion varies at each Disney Park around the globe. From mansions to manors, this attraction is a favorite among many Disney guests.
Haunted Mansion was an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square and has received a few fun changes over the years. One of the most recent and notable changes brought the return of the Hatbox Ghost. This clever illusion is truly spell-binding.
The Hatbox Ghost appears to guests as they pass the Endless Hallway, welcoming himself inside from the swinging wake in the cemetery and grinning at the Doom Buggies as they set off deeper into the mansion.
Haunted Mansion Refurbishment

Naturally, refurbishment is a necessary evil for rides like the Haunted Mansion. While it is disappointing, it does the very important work of keeping us safe and ensuring that although there’s room for one more that no one actually meets any sort of grim fate.
Disney filed a new permit for the Haunted Mansion that will end on October 31, 2025 (seriously what other date would be appropriate for the Haunted Mansion.” This work will be for “General Construction” by MLC Theming.
Based upon this permit and the company to complete the work, it appears to be for attraction elements rather than general work on the ride system.
What changes could come to Haunted Mansion

Over at Disneyland, they received two new scenes from a recent refurbishment. The biggest update is with the attic scene; a new bride has arrived!
A permit is filed for “General Construction” at the Haunted Mansion, but with no closing date.
The imagery at the end of the ride has also been updated; this is the part when “a ghost will follow you home.” You can see full details on these new scenes HERE. With news of a permit filing, we hope these new scenes may come to Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion.
