Disney’s Hollywood Studios shocked guests with the rare characters that greeted guests. The best part is that this lineup is even better than those offered for special ticketed events. What do you think about this free character offering?
Special Evening Announced
One thing that sets Disney Parks apart from other Theme Parks is so many great character meet and greets. We all love classic characters like Mickey and his pals, but many Disney fans love rare meet-and-greets.
This past weekend, Disney promised brand new New Year’s festivities offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including fireworks, live entertainment, DJs all night long, fireworks, and special character experiences.
We, along with other Disney fans, assumed that characters featured at Jollywood Nights would greet guests. Disney delivered above and beyond our expectations.
Rare Characters
Not too surprisingly, we were greeted by both Panchito Pistoles and Jose Carioca from the Three Caballeros were out. Thankfully, even more rare characters were also delighting guests.
From Pixar: Carl Fredrickson from Up danced the night away at the Pixar Dance Party with his trusty walker. Ian and Barley Lightfoot, from Onward, greeted guests. Guests were shocked when Boo from Monsters Inc. made a very rare debut.
Guests were also greeted by a few of our favorite characters from the Marvel Universe, including Star-Lord and Gamora. The Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, also appeared for this special evening.
Unbelievable Experience
Oftentimes, Disney guests are somewhat underwhelmed when Disney makes announcements of special character appearances, but this experience shocked us in the best way.
For the New Year’s Eve event, rare characters from Up, Monsters Inc., Onward, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange greeted guests.
One guest shared that they would have paid the price of a Jollywood Night ticket for the great entertainment and characters offered. We are hopeful that more fun experiences such as this will extend throughout the New Year.
What do you think of these rare characters? Do you think more events should be offered like this without a special ticketed event? Share your thoughts with us, and share this news with your Disney pals.
