Out of This World Quick Service at Hollywood Studios

Are you looking for the BEST quick service options for dining in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? You may be surprised that some of the very best quick-service food is in Galaxy’s Edge. Here is a full review so you know whether you’d like to stop by on your visit to Batuu.

Dining In Hollywood Studios

Frequent Disney travelers don’t necessarily go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the food. In fact, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom have the weakest dining options overall.

However, that doesn’t mean diners are completely out of luck! Hollywood Brown Derby has improved and has been downright delicious in 2024. And 50’s Prime Time Cafe is consistently decent.

However, you may find that ultimately it is better to forego table-service meals here altogether as some of the best, most flavorful options are hidden in counter service restaurants like Woody’s Lunch Box or Ronto Roasters. Another gem is Docking Bay 7. Here is why it needs to be on your radar.

Diners will find Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It is one of those places that you might completely pass by if you don’t know what you are looking for.

Docking Bay 7 is housed in a working hangar bay. You will find it near the ramp down to the Millennium Falcon. It offers both walk-up and mobile ordering. Often Cast Members are outside to assist you with where to go depending on whether you utilize mobile ordering.

The backstory for the restaurant is that Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs has docked a food freighter loaded with fresh supplies. He’s ready to satisfy the appetites of visitors and locals alike with an array of exotic offerings. His planet-hopping travels allow him to prepare fare with unusual flavors that delight customers.

Seating

The seating area is one of the highlights of Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, and is perhaps one of Hollywood Studio’s best-kept secrets for escaping the elements. It is dim and cool, and there are plenty of tables inside. It is a lot bigger than it looks.

Plus, many of the tables are immersed completely in the Star Wars theming. The one drawback is that they are tightly packed, so maneuvering can be difficult.

If you prefer an outdoor setting, you will find tables and umbrellas. Not all tables are well-shaded, but some of them are nice spots to dine.

Price

Docking Bay 7 is a quick-service restaurant, so it will only cost one credit per person who orders. If you are paying out of pocket, adult entrees fall into the $15-$30 scope.

Kid’s meals are less expensive. And, this is one place where everyone in the party can technically order a kid’s meal if they wish.

Kid’s Offerings

The kid’s offerings are interesting and tasty. However, if you have any picky eaters they might be a little too adventurous to satisfy them.

My kids and I personally all find the Fried Chicken Tip Yip Youngling Meal to be delicious. The portions are small, so it is my Hollywood Studios go-to for if I am a little hungry and am craving some comfort food.

It is Crispy Chicken served with House-made Macaroni & Cheese and Roasted Vegetables. The vegetables are typically broccoli.

Adult Entrees

The adult entrees are equally unique, and many of them are down right delicious. Last time I visited, one of my travel party members ordered Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs for the table since everyone wanted to try them.

Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs are Pork Ribs brushed with Tangy BBQ Sauce and served with Blueberry Corn Muffin and Red Cabbage Slaw. These were so tasty and indeed tangy. Everyone really enjoyed them. The muffin was also pretty good!

Three Members of my party had the Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad. This salad is made with Marinated Chicken, Mixed Greens, Shaved Onion and Radish, Grapes, Tomato, and Cucumber in a Citrus-Pomegranate Vinaigrette with Spiced Yogurt Drizzle. You can have items left off if you prefer.

I actually loved this salad, and so did the other two members of my party who tried it. It was nice and green, and the dressing was delicious.

If you are curious about the adult version of Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip, it is exactly like the kids’ version of the dish. It just comes with more chicken.

Another member of our party had the Peka Tuna Poke. It is a surprising, but welcome option for a quick-service restaurant. This is Raw Tuna tossed in a Spicy Sriracha Dressing and served with Green Papaya Salad, Pickled Mushrooms, Fresh Herbs, and Crispy Garlic.

I didn’t taste this one for myself. However, my cousin who had it has excellent taste and assured me it was really good. It was flavorful and spicy.

Overall

If you need a quick bite, and you have a somewhat adventurous pallet, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is a great place to go. It will fill you up with satisfying flavors, and it will give you shelter from whatever heat or driving rain you may be facing outdoors.

Plus, it is a fun place to be for a Star Wars fan. Overall, it is pretty good stuff, especially compared to other quick-service locations (and some table-service locations) throughout the park! Don’t overlook it on your visit to Hollywood Studios if you want to save time and skip the table-service options.
