Refurbishments
Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. These may take place for various reasons. Whether it be for mechanical issues or cosmetic updates, a refurbishment can take place for many reasons. Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may take a few days or several months.
Currently, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is closed for a rather lengthy refurbishment. This thrilling coaster closed for guests back in January 2024 and has remained closed.
Disney announced that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would reopen this summer, but a date is not yet provided. The Walt Disney World operational schedule is updated to June 17, 2024. At this time all dates through mid-June still appear closed for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
New Refurbishment
Today, a new refurbishment appears on the Walt Disney World website. Vacation Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios allows guests to sit back in Mickey Mouse-themed theatre chairs and enjoy an original animated short.
This short is a montage of many of our favorite Mickey Mouse shorts and offers a break from the crowds. Starting on Monday, April 29, 2024, the Vacation Fun Theatre will be closed to guests.
Disney has not announced what this refurbishment may entail. Vacation Fun will reopen to guests on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Closures
Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers a much smaller list of attractions than other Walt Disney World World Parks. That makes it even more frustrating when attractions close at this park.
Vacation Fun closes for refurbishment starting on April 29, 2024.
You may need to add a bit more patience if traveling to Disney’s Hollywood Studios during this time. Guests can still enjoy 3 great shows: “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Celebration”, “Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage”, and the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
