Disney implements virtual queues for attractions, ticket purchases, merchandise releases, and more. They are finally solving a problem that we hope alleviates some issues for Guests. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Virtual Queues
Disney uses virtual queues to manage the number of Guests using one of its products. Whether that be an attraction in the parks or purchasing tickets online, it’s a way to avoid completely overwhelming the system.
Typically, online queues show you are in line to purchase, and they hold you in a waiting room until it’s your turn to enter. This can be nerve-wracking as products or tickets may sell out before you able to purchase.
Then, you have to sit there and watch the screen like a hawk. You never know when it will be your turn to enter! When a queue lasts hours, this can be incredibly frustrating.
Solving a Problem
For the first time, if you’re waiting in the online queue to purchase tickets, you may have the option to be digitally notified when it’s your time to enter the ticket store.
To participate, once in the queue, choose the “notify me” option and enter your email address. You will receive an email letting you know it’s your turn to return to the waiting room in order to enter the ticket store site.
From the time your turn begins, you will have ten minutes to use the link to return to the site.
When will this be implemented?
Disney will roll out this new “notify me” option when tickets go on sale for Star Wars Nites. This separately ticketed event will be held at Disneyland Park on April 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 and May 2, 7 and 9, 2024.
Inspire Magic Key holders will have the first opportunity to purchase pre-sale tickets for Star Wars Nite. On Tuesday, February 20, 2024 (no earlier than 9 a.m. PT) Inspire Key holders may purchase from a select amount of pre-sale tickets. Then, on Wednesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 22, all Magic Key holders will have the opportunity to purchase from a select amount of pre-sale tickets.
On Friday, February 23 (no earlier than 9 a.m. PT), tickets will go on sale to the general public. This event is sure to be popular, so be ready to purchase tickets as soon as you able.
