Disney Shows

The Walt Disney Company entertains like none other through films, television, streaming, and in the Disney Parks. Disney continues to evolve and reinvent itself. Many thought that Walt Disney made a big mistake when venturing into television in the early 1950’s.

This first began with the Christmas specials. Guests can enjoy a compilation of these holiday specials on Disney+ with “A Christmas with Walt Disney.” Disney then expanded into The Wonderful World of Disney and the Mickey Mouse Club.

Since that time, the Walt Disney Company has become synonymous with great television content. The company later expanded in 2019 to Disney+.

Show Cancellations

Over the past several years, Disney content has changed quite a bit. Back in May, Disney shared that they would begin removing content from Disney+ along with canceling new content that was previously announced.

Many shows were canceled and some never even appeared on Disney+. Now the cancelations are hitting the Disney Channel. One of the longest-running live-action series, Bunk’d is now ending. My (Donna) children loved watching Jessie on Disney Channel and were sad to see this series come to an end.

Thankfully, Bunk’d was a clever spinoff for this entertaining series debuting in 2015. Disney Channel fans could follow along with their favorite characters from Jessie in a Summer Camp setting. Currently, Bunk’d is in its 7th season, and Disney now announces that this is the end of the line.

What You Need to Know

The cast started production of the 7th season, but filming paused due to the WGA strike. As the strike resolved, filming for the 7th season of Bunk’d resumed. The 7th season was to include 20 episodes. At this time 12 of these 20 episodes are complete.

With Disney announcing that this 7th season will be the last for Bunk’d, two additional episodes were added. Part 1 of Season 7 aired this past summer. Part 2 of Season 7 will air in 2024.

President of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis, shares that they are thankful for “a fantastic cast of characters and hilarious and heartful storylines.”

As Walt Disney liked to say “We keep moving forward”, and Davis promises just that. Although this series is coming to an end, they will look to create a new generation of live-action shows.

Currently, Bunk’d is in its 7th season, and Disney now announces that this is the end of the line.
