Did you know that each day Walt Disney World holds a special Flag Retreat Ceremony in the Magic Kingdom? The purpose of these ceremonies is to honor our flag and show gratitude to those who protect it.

At Disney World, one veteran is chosen to join the Security Team in lowering the flag and walking in a procession down Main Street. It is truly a touching ceremony.

You can also see a similar ceremony in Disneyland. There, Disney invites anyone who is a veteran or currently serving to circle around the flag as it is lowered.

While this ceremony happens daily, Walt Disney World as part of Disney Parks’ tradition of honoring those who defend our nation coast-to-coast, it was extra special this week. That is because the Magic Kingdom hosted a special flag retreat ceremony recognizing cast members who have served our country.
