Disney’s first full-length animated feature is none other than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Released in 1937, this classic film is a beloved story that has stood the test of time.

The story tells of Snow White and her wicked Stepmother. When the Evil Queen finds out she is no longer the fairest of them all, she tries to have Snow White killed.

Snow White finds herself in the woods and stumbles upon the home of the Seven Dwarfs. The Evil Queen meets Snow White at the cottage and gets her to eat the poison apple.

The prince comes to her rescue and breaks the spell with true love’s kiss!

Live Action Remake and Controversy

The live action remake has been in the works for a few years now. It originally had a 2023 release date, but was pushed back to 2024.

The film has not gone without receiving criticism already. Peter Dinklage, the actor best known for his role in Game of Thrones had a lot to say about the film and how it will handle representation of little people. Instead, the live-action film will have magical creatures versus casting little people.

Actress Rachel Zegler has also made some comments about the film and instances where the live-action may stray from the original story. Such comments received some intense backlash, with fans calling the adaptation “woke.”

Unfortunately, the release date has been pushed back again. Instead of premiering in March 2024, the live-action Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will hit theaters on March 21, 2025.

But, Disney did share a new photo of Snow White plus Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. You can see it right here:

I was sad that the dragon and cricket were not in live action Mulan - but it could have a sorceress?! Then not a red headed little mermaid. I feel Haley should have waited to be Tiana. I need to see the seven dwarfs and the prince to wake her. But, that’s me. I’m Disney through and through.

So many people so butt hurt about a movie. I'm not judging a movie before it's even finished. If the trailer looks good I'll see it if it doesn't i won't. I don't get into the whole "woke" argument. I have my own life and problems so if it makes someone else feel good to feel more represented then I'm all for it. But if the story sucks i won't see it.

They do actually look like dwarfs in this picture. So I'm confused how that's possible when that scene with her and these "magical non-dwarf creatures" in the field was leaked. Are they or are they not dwarfs??

Say what you will about the Rachel Zeigler casting--woke or not...smug jerk or not...that hairstyle ain't working for her. In this image OR the BTS photo with the "Magical Creatures." Ugh.
