Disappointing Costumes and More Revealed for Disney World’s New Christmas Party

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

The holidays will be even more magical at Disney World this year with the new Christmas party! We have some more details to share with you regarding this event and its offerings. However, we are pretty disappointed with Disney’s take on the costumes. Take a look and let us know what you think.

The events. Snacks and toasty beverages. All of the amazing decor! There is so much to love about the holidays at Disney.

Christmas is a very special time of the year to visit a Disney park. If you have never been, I (Monica) encourage to plan a visit ASAP! You can read all about what makes Disney more special during the holidays in this post.

Jollywood Nights

Disney Jollywood Nights is a new, separately ticketed event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort from 8:30 p.m.–12:30 a.m. on select nights from November 11 through December 20, 2023. Tickets are on sale now, and we have a feeling may sell out.

Disney boasts that it’s a holiday vibe like you’ve never before experienced. Sights of sparkling décor, sounds of modern beats over classic holiday songs, tastes of craft cocktails, and decadent dishes. It’s nostalgic, and it’s glitz and glam galore.

Entertainment includes a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along, a Kermit and Miss Piggy stage show, character meet and greets, a jazz lounge at Hollywood Brown Derby, and a Tower of Terror soiree. You will also be able to watch Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! for the first time since 2019.

Muppets Stage Show

Disney recently shared more about the “Holiday Fiesta En La Calle” which you can read about in this post. Now, we have a first look at the Muppet stage show.

Concept art shows Kermit and Miss Piggy along with several dancers and singers on the festive stage at the Theater of the Stars. We remain hopeful these will be puppets or live characters and not a screen. See the concept art below:

New Costumes

In addition, Mickey and Friends will sport brand new costumes for the event. I’ll be honest, this is not what I envisioned for the costumes. Disney is hyping the event up as glitzy and glamorous. Disney should have put the Sensational Six in some old Hollywood glittery gowns and suits.

These colors are off-putting and the clothes themselves don’t look like they belong at this event. What do you think?

We still do not have any information on the Brown Derby lounge or Hollywood Tower Hotel soiree. You can read about what we know regarding characters and the Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along HERE and HERE.

With just a few weeks to go until the event kicks off, we are hopeful Disney will share more about the event and what to expect.

Yeah, I have to agree about the costumes. They’re not very festive. Definitely not getting any “holiday feels” from them. The outfits are cute but they look like they’re dressed for Spring.

The first thing I thought was these outfits belong at Cape May Cafe if it offered seasonal dining.
