One of Disney World’s most popular places to grab a sweet treat is none other than Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs. It serves up delectable offerings including uniquely delicious cookies, cake slices, and cold brew. You can read all about it right here.

One thing about Gideon’s is that it is so popular that if you don’t catch it at just the right time, you will see a line that spills out into the streets. Sometimes the wait moves to a virtual queue, which is nice because you can receive a call back and enjoy the rest of Disney Springs.

And, the line might be even longer in October because Gideon’s announced the return of two very popular cookies for the month as well as plenty of merch and weekly surprise treats! It is sure to be a great month.

We grabbed a pair of the October cookies to try for you. Here is a review of how they stack up so that you know whether to prioritize getting yourself one on your trip to Walt Disney World.

As you know, the cookies are huge, so splitting two of them 8 ways for a taste test with a group of dreamers of all ages was simple. Deciding on a favorite, however, was a little more complicated.

One of the most popular limited-time offerings is BACK this month. The Frankenstein is stuffed with chocolate and double-stuffed Oreo cookies! It’s coated in M&Ms and chocolate.

This cookie is very sweet and chocolatey. If you love sweets and Oreos, then you are in for a treat in the Frankenstein cookie. The chocolate lovers in our group of taste-testers LOVED this one. It is no wonder it is one of the most popular limited-time offerings to ever materialize at Gideon’s.

On the other hand, the Bride of Frankenstein cookie is quite a bit more vanilla. It is a vanilla cookie base stuffed with white chocolate and golden Oreos. It too is topped with plenty of M&M’s, so it still has a chocolate kick.

This cookie is a dreamy delight of creamy goodness. One of our taste testers said the flavor profile reminded him of Mall Cookie cake in the best possible way, and I can definitely see it. It is a great balance of golden flavors and just enough chocolate.

So Which One is Better

Which cookie is better? The results were completely divided. Everyone agreed that they liked both cookies; however, there was a mixed bag of favorites.

The chocolate fans, unsurprisingly, preferred the Frankenstein Cookie. Those who like chocolate, but not too much chocolate, preferred the Bride of Frankenstein cookie more than its chocolate counterpart. I (Katie) preferred the Bride cookie. That is not to say that the Frankenstein isn’t delicious (It is). I just prefer a little something to balance out the chocolate.

An Old Favorite

We also threw an old favorite, the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip cookie into the mix. Several of the adults in my taste-testing team preferred this old favorite to either flavor (myself included). It is special with its sweetness which is balanced perfectly with a hint of salt. The kids all liked the Frankenstein duo better.

While I love trying all of the unique and interesting special cookie flavors Gideon’s has to offer, don’t forget about the old favorites that are available daily. You can buy them in combination with the specials, so be sure to indulge if you wish.

Overall, these cookies are worth the wait whether you go for the specials or the tried and true favorites. Even so, time is precious, so if you want tricks for minimizing your wait, head over HERE.
