Although many guests are still skeptical of the Disney Genie+ system, it appears that this is here to stay.  With the purchase of Disney Genie+, guests can make Lightning Lane selections to allow them to bypass the traditional queue lines. 

Over the past year, Disney has made many changes for Disney Genie. Some were welcome and some were not as welcome, especially with the introduction of variable pricing.

When it is working perfectly, Disney Genie+ allows guests staying at Disney Resorts to make their first Lightning Lane selection at 7:00 a.m. The key phrase here is “working perfectly.”

Unfortunately, the Walt Disney Company is not well known for great technical support. Many guests have voiced complaints for the past several days that Disney Genie+ was not loading correctly at 7:00 a.m.

On select days this was simply delayed 10 minutes, but today many could not make their first Lightning Lane selection until 8:00 a.m.

This is a big disadvantage for guests paying for this add-on service. Many guests share that their biggest complaint is being “glued to their phones” trying to make Lightning Lane selections while on vacation.

This glitch impacts guests’ overall enjoyment while on vacation. If you plan to purchase Genie+ during your next trip, be sure to pack your patience. We are hopeful that Disney is working to correct these technical errors for guests.

Agreed! Selling an expensive(for families) product that has many glitches. Products that have consistent issues are usually taken off the market! You never know when it will work and while on vacation and getting up at 7 and glued to your phone totally sucks! PS: Disney doesn’t care about its customers!

Genie+ needs to disappear. Don't love getting up by 7am on vacation to make plans and then being glued to my phone all day. Unfortunately Disney/Iger don't care about their guests anymore...just making $$$.
