100th anniversary
From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the 1920s to its name in the entertainment industry today, The Walt Disney Company proudly continues its legacy of creating world-class stories and experiences for every member of the family.
Disney 100 Years of Wonder will be the largest cross-company global celebration in the 100-year history of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Parks around the world will celebrate the 100th anniversary, with the heart of the celebration at Disneyland Resort.
But, we also have celebrations taking place at Disney World, around the world, and at home!
ABC Special
Disney will celebrate this big milestone with a 100th anniversary celebration special. It will air on Sunday, October 15, 2023 during The Wonderful World of Disney, which airs at 8:00 pm Eastern (7:00 pm Central).
The evening is hosted by Kelly Ripa, which actually begins with an episode of America’s Funniest Videos followed by sneak peeks of upcoming Disney projects. We will also get to watch the beloved film, Encanto. Plan to make an entire evening of it – it’s set to last until 10:30 pm Eastern (9:30 pm Central).

Once Upon a Studio
“Once Upon A Studio” will premiere during the ABC special! It is a new short film directed by Trent Correy and Dan Abraham.
We first learned about “Once Upon a Studio” earlier this summer at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and it was recently shown at Destination D23.

An all-star ensemble of beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios come together in “Once Upon a Studio” for a joyful, entertaining and emotional reunion as they assemble for a spectacular group photo to mark Disney’s 100th anniversary. Featuring 543 Disney characters from more than 85 feature-length and short films, “Once Upon a Studio” welcomes heroes and villains, princes and princesses, sidekicks and sorcerers—in all-new hand-drawn and CG animation—to celebrate 10 decades of storytelling, artistry and technological achievements.
