Avid readers can attest that any time they find an amazing book series, they know that it is only a matter of time before Hollywood buys the rights. Book fans are often left hoping that the creative minds bringing these beloved stories to life will do them justice. Everyone wants a repeat of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.
Everyone had such high hopes for Rick Riordan’s wildly popular Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Sadly, when the story of the demigod was first adapted for film, the results were not well-received. The movies left audiences disappointed. And, after just two movies, additional sequels were scrapped.
However, Disney+ is bringing back Percy Jackson through a new TV series. In doing so, Disney has a chance to give fans what they want: an on-screen adaptation of the books that tells the full story in a way that does it justice. And, the creative minds behind it have promised that it will be a much more faithful adaptation of the books that audiences know and love.
Series Details
How can we be so sure that the TV show will be any better than the lackluster movies? For one thing, Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan has been working closely with filmmakers to help them get this one right. He has helped them deliver a series that stays true to his vision for these heroic characters that millions of book fans know and love.
As for what the series is about? “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt
With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus. You can find the release date HERE.
