From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the 1920s to its name in the entertainment industry today, The Walt Disney Company proudly continues its legacy of creating world-class stories and experiences for every member of the family.

Disney 100 Years of Wonder is the largest cross-company global celebration in the 100-year history of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Parks around the world will celebrate the 100th anniversary, with the heart of the celebration at Disneyland Resort.

Walt Disney was truly a visionary. The dream of Disneyland came as Walt Disney ate peanuts while sitting on a park bench as he watched his daughters enjoy a Merry-Go-Round at Griffith Park.

The picture featured above is of this actual park bench that Walt sat on. This is located in the lobby of the Opera House at Disneyland.

Disney said, “I felt that there should be something built where the parents and the children could have fun together. So that’s how Disneyland started.”

Disney Parks shared a first glimpse of the newest Walt Disney statue just in time for the 100 Years of Wonder. This is titled “Dream Makers” and will feature both Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse seated on a bench.

This new “Dream Makers” statue will be unveiled this October.

This statue will officially unveil at Hong Kong Disneyland this October. Check out our first look at this rendering:

This statue will be placed behind the castle while many other statues of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse are featured at the front of the castle. Unfortunately, to have this statue face the carousel means the removal of the Sword in the Stone feature at this park.

What do you think of this new Walt Disney statue? Do you think this is needed at other Disney Parks as well? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with a fellow Disney pal.

Burbank is where it all started, why not unveil it there?
